What PET-CF is and when to use it

PET-CF is PET reinforced with chopped carbon fibre. It is one of the stiffest and most heat-resistant materials we print, and it holds its dimensions well — useful for parts that must stay precise under load or warmth.

The trade-off is toughness: it is brittle under impact, so it suits parts loaded steadily rather than parts that get knocked or dropped. Carbon fibre is abrasive, so we print it with a hardened steel nozzle on the enclosed P1S.

Choose it when

  • Maximum stiffness and heat resistance
  • Precise parts that must keep their shape
  • Fixtures, jigs and brackets with steady loads

Avoid it when

  • Parts that take impacts or get dropped — choose PC, PETG or nylon
  • Snap-fits and flexible features
